Find the perfect swimsuit that flatters your shape the best!

Swimwear for everyone!

Summer is coming! So it's time to think about choosing your bikini! If you are sun worshipers and you want to look great on your favourite beach, it's essential to choose a style that flatters your body... With so many different types of swimwear to choose from, there are certain factors that you need to consider, such as, size, colour and more importantly, style.

The 2014 collection is an explosion of colours, designs and styles with a 70's look.

For this, you need to choose a style that suits your body shape.

We’re all different, with unique characteristics and bodies shapes. This is why a one-piece swimsuit or a triangle bikini would look good on some, but for others would not be flattering at all.

MarPraia gives you some tips for your body shape and some basic rules... But there are rules, and then there are "rules"…

Forget your hang-ups, relax, and most of yourself!

If you are"Rectangular-shaped"

We'd all like to have a patterned swimming costume, but you need to know how to wear it.

Patterned bikinis are good for "rectangular-shaped" women (you are in this category when the upper part of your body, your shoulders, and the lower part, your hips and legs, are of similar width.)

Patterned-swimwear creates visual curves that harmonize your body...

If you tend to carry your weight around your stomach.

If you tend to have unwanted curves around your stomach, you should opt for a high-waisted bikini bottom (not necessarily wider since this tends to make you look larger!), in dark, plain colours. High-waisted bottoms will hide those small curves in the stomach area. If you want to wear a patterned bikini, try just wearing a patterned top as this will draw attention to this part of your body.

If you are oval-shaped

Curvy women, who don't feel comfortable in a bikini, can opt for a pretty one-piece costume.

If you are oval-shaped, we recommend that you wear a "sexy" one-piece costume, with, for example, a plunging V-neckline; this will make you look taller and slimmer around the waist.

You should wear plain colours (bright or dark) with a few jewellery details for a prettier design that will make you forget you're wearing a one-piece...

If you have a large chest

You're lucky as you can wear anything: a one-piece, a triangle bikini or a bandeau bikini will all look good on you! But you need to choose a bikini that will support your bust as much as possible, such as a balconette top (without padding).

If you are slim.

If you are lucky enough to have a slim figure, you can choose from all sorts of colorful patterns, horizontal stripes and bikinis with ruffles that will give your hips a sensual curve.

If you are "inverted-triangle shaped"

If your shoulders are wider than you waistline and thighs (as opposed to "pear-shaped"), ideally, you should opt for bottoms with patterns, ruffles, or some sort of detail on them to attract attention to your bottom half. We advise you to select a plain top which will divert attention away from your shoulders to the bottom half of your body.
